By Kids school I am assuming you are talking about Pre/Play school.
So let me answer by stating this critical fact that the pre/play-school market in India is still unregulated i.e The Directorate of Education has no control over their running.
1) Land: As per my knowledge, the pre/play schools can be run even in a residential colonies. Thats the good part as land is relatively inexpensive as compared to commercial/ Educational land.
No CLU (Change of land use is require for the same.
There is no stipulated minimum are which you require to start it.
So find a good place.
2)Fee: You need to make your fee just right which can be done by a competitive study in the market.
It is not a fee sensitive market but it is important that we set the base fee (year 1) after thorough research as any strong movement in the fee either directions up or down will not go well with parents.
2)Teachers: The most important resource for any school, weather pre or K-12 school. You need to hire the best teachers for your school for which you might need to pay little higher than the market.
Fresh faces(New teachers) are important for any play school as they would also deal with parents with same age group.
Again TEACHERS AND ONLY TEACHERS CAN MAKE OR BREAK A SCHOOL.
4) Right Tie-ups: Assuming you are not from this background, there are multiple players/knowledge partners available for school tie ups for their activity based programs, content etc but make sure you tie up with a serious player with a passion for education .
Lastly, do not enter this industry because you think you can make money or have seen someone making it.
Enter only if you wish to make change and you're passionate about education and there is NO EXIT .
Remember always, schools never shut they are till eternity
